The fire
A Bedouin elder pours gahwa for a boy under a red star. Hospitality, honour, trust — the law of the sands, handed down.
٢١١٧ · عام الوصول — من الصحراء إلى المريخ
The UAE has set itself a deadline: a human settlement on Mars by 2117. This is the story of the people who crossed the desert — and then the void — to keep that promise.
They began with nothing. Only sand, and sky, and a promise passed from father to son.
What the world called impossible, they called the beginning.

A Bedouin elder pours gahwa for a boy under a red star. Hospitality, honour, trust — the law of the sands, handed down.

The UAE announces Mars 2117 — a national, century-long programme to build the first human settlement on Mars.

The Emirates Mars Mission's Hope probe enters Mars orbit — the first interplanetary mission from the Arab world.

Sultan AlNeyadi spends six months aboard the ISS and makes the first spacewalk by an Arab astronaut.

In a command centre in Dubai, engineers and leaders stand around a turning hologram of Mars. The mission has a name.

Domes glow across a red valley. The children of the desert have built a city on another world. Then a light appears on the ridge.
“From that emptiness, they raised a city that touched the clouds. But the people of the desert have always followed the horizon.”
“They crossed the void — carrying the law of the sands: trust, honour, hospitality.”
“A people who once crossed deserts now build an empire beyond the planet. But the frontier keeps its secrets.”
A young Emirati engineer-astronaut, early thirties: calm, dignified, quietly confident. He carries a grandfather's fire into a hangar, a cockpit, and then onto red soil. He is an original character and the face of the franchise.
One object carries the brand from screen to shelf. The hero colourway leads the series; the alternates mark crews, ranks and later seasons, and each one can become a physical or digital product.
The hero helmet. Olive band, sand shell. Worn by the Pioneer in every key beat.

Domes on a modular grid, joined by pressurised corridors and lit amber against the dust. The colony is the show's second lead: fragile, built by hand and by machine, and growing every episode.

Geodesic habitats in a clean hex lattice, linked by tubular corridors. Some glow complete, others are still skeleton scaffolds.

Layered panels and glowing structural nodes lock into place. Emirati engineers with holographic tablets run the inspection.

Hydroponic towers, water and oxygen systems drawn in light. This is where the colony breathes, and where it can fail.

A colossal front of dust moves toward the domes, and something pulses on the far ridge. The season ends on a question.
A crew of strangers bound by a word given. Some of them will break it.
The weight of a nation's name on every decision made 225 million km from home.
The gahwa ritual survives the voyage. On Mars, the welcome is a matter of survival.
For elders, for the land and for the unknown waiting past the ridge.

The national goal of the first human settlement on Mars.
It took fifty years to go from a union in the desert to an orbit around Mars. 2117 imagines the next hundred.
The series is Emirati at its core: an Emirati hero, Emirati engineers and Emirati values, told with the scale of a global franchise. It shows the world what the UAE has already done and where it is going.
A Bedouin promise made by a fire in 1976 becomes a nation's century-long mission. In 2117 its heir stands on Mars and sees a light on the ridge that should not be there.
1976. A boy, an elder, a red star over the dunes. The promise that sets everything in motion.
A nation commits to a 100-year goal. The first engineers are recruited, and some families give up a son or a daughter to the mission.
The first probe reaches Mars. A triumph abroad, and a private cost at home.
Selection. The fire's heir earns his place, and has to prove the crew can trust him.
The desert spaceport. A crowd in white kanduras. The ground shakes and there is no way back.
Months of transit. Earth becomes a blue star, and whatever was hidden on board comes out.
Landing in a storm. First step, first flag, first dome, built by settlers and machines together.
The colony lives. Then the storm wall rises, a pulse flickers on the far ridge, and the screen cuts to black.
Mars 2117 is official policy with real missions already flown. Nobody has yet told it as a story. 2117 can be that story: owned IP, anchored in the UAE, made for a global audience.
